Join Gina Hart-Smith for this special event focusing on the experience of being embodied. Listen to the innate wisdom of the body and nervous system. Do you desire to be more present? More in love with living? More aligned with your truth and personal desires? We will explore gentle movement and meditation practices.

Intro to Ayurveda ~ 3-6pm ($40)

Join Gina Hart-Smith, Ayurvedic Health Coach, for this introduction to the science of life. Ayurveda is a system of self care and medical practices which provide longevity and relief from disease. Developed on the Indian subcontinent 5,000-10,000 years ago this system is rooted in the teachings of the Vedas.

Learn the 5 element theory, the Tri-Doshic model, and explore basic Ayurvedic daily routines.


About the teacher:

Wheeling native, Gina Hart-Smith is a Yoga teacher and Ayurvedic health coach living in Huntington, West Virginia. A mother, wife, and student of Tantra Sri Vidya and Ayurveda, she has backgrounds in Hatha Yoga and Kundalini. Studying in the Shakti School founded by her beloved teacher Katie Silcox, she is deeply influenced by love teachers Lilias Folan, Judith Hanson Lasater, Anna Pittman, Bill Price, Meredith Klein, and ultimately Ram Dass through his Be Here Now text of teachings.

Gina is committed to welcome, openness, and accessibility to all within Yoga and Ayurveda. She delivers the teachings with compassion, joy, humor, honesty, and a deep respect for the sacred. Believing and acting on the belief that the Yoga and Ayurveda lifestyle is a cradle to grave practice for all ages and abilities, Gina offers her Dharma.

Gina is an ERYT200, was recently certified as an Ayurvedic Health Coach, and is currently enrolled in the Ayurvedic Health Counselor program through the Shakti School. She serves humbly and joyfully on staff and the faculty of the Yoga teacher training progam at Studio 8 in Huntington.

A graduate of Marshall University College of Liberal Arts with Bachelor's degrees in German and Psychology, Gina worked for 17 years in the field of behavioral health and social work. This experience informs her deep understanding of and unique ability to provide trauma-sensitivity and inclusion in her Yoga and Ayurveda sessions.

Gina is known for her Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Kid's Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, and Sit-Down Comedy offerings. She lead Intro and Intermediate Yoga at Marshall University for seven years introducing thousands of students to the practice. Her Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Bob Marley Yoga and music experiences are unique and a great time.

Gina's offerings include: Ayurvedic health coaching, public Yoga classes, private Yoga sessions, cooking classes, compassionate communication, restorative Yoga, Yoga of embodiment, emotional literacy workshops, and women's events.
